1. An information assurance technique that enables reconstruction of data corrupted during storage. Erasure coding transforms and divides data into several pieces that can be stored in separate locations, such that the original data can be recovered even if several of the pieces are lost or corrupted. The original data's reconstruction depends upon polynomial interpolation or oversampling.
