Reston, Virginia-based language and intelligence firm Acclaim Technical Services (ATS) has acquired Chantilly, Virginia-based network engineering and security provider Alder Technology. ATS stated, "The combination of the two firms cements ATS as a critical middle market company in the core IC landscape. Building upon the previous additions of Axis of Engineering (2019), Global Consulting Services (2020), Entegra Systems (2021), and OASIC Engineering, LLC (2023), the acquisition of Alder accelerates ATS’s strategic expansion into technology offerings that support mission-critical national security objectives."
BlackBerry has canceled its plan to separate its IoT and cybersecurity business units into two separate companies, the Register reports. The company will instead reorganize the two units as two fully standalone divisions. BlackBerry stated, "The Company will no longer pursue a subsidiary initial public offering of its IoT business unit. The process will include the separation and streamlining of BlackBerry’s centralized corporate functions into business-unit specific teams, with a view to each division operating independently and on a profitable and cashflow-positive basis going forward."
BlackBerry has appointed John J. Giamatteo as CEO. The company's interim CEO Richard Lynch will continue to serve as board chair. Giamatteo previously served as President and Chief Revenue Officer at McAfee.
Nisos has named Ryan LaSalle as its new CEO. LaSalle previously led Accenture's North America Security practice.
Microsoft has appointed Igor Tsyganskiy as its new CISO, the Stack reports. The company's former CISO Bret Arsenault will serve as a security advisor. Before joining Microsoft in September 2023, Tsyganskiy served as head of investment technologies at Bridgewater Associates.
FS-ISAC has appointed John Denning as CISO, effective January 1st, 2024. Denning previously served as Global Compliance and Operational Risk Executive at Bank of America.
