App development and infrastructure software company Progress has acquired California-based data management company MarkLogic. “MarkLogic presents a unique opportunity for Progress customers. By expanding our data capabilities, our customers gain more agility as to how and where they can leverage their data,” said John Ainsworth, Executive Vice President, General Manager, Application and Data Platform, Progress. “At the same time, MarkLogic customers gain access to a global leader with a proven track record in the software infrastructure space."

New Hampshire-based cybersecurity, cloud, and managed services provider GreenPages Technology Solutions has announced their acquisition of Massachusetts-based cybersecurity consulting firm Arcas Risk Management. “We’re excited to welcome the talented Arcas team to GreenPages,” said Chief Executive of GreenPages, Ron Dupler. “The digital era is rife with opportunity for our clients—but also teeming with increasingly advanced threats. Industrial control system cybersecurity company Opscura has raised $9.4M in Series A funding, led by Anzu Partners, with participation from Dreamit and Mundi Ventures. This marks the launch of a new brand, new management, and product upgrades for the company formerly known as Spain's Enigmedia. “It’s time to take on the most pressing national cybersecurity problems and move the entire ICS ecosystem forward,” said David Hatchell, CEO at Opscura. “Together with our partners and talented technical teams, Opscura can help customers move beyond device visibility to protect our critical industrial assets and data.”

Californian software supply chain security management company Lineaje has announced the closure of a $7 million seed funding round, led by Tenable Ventures. The funding comes at the same time as the company's announcement of their partnership with Persistent Systems, as well as the launch of their new SB0M360 supply chain management solution.

Cyberhaven has appointed Chris Hodson as the company's Chief Security Officer.

Redbot Security has promoted Keith Cox to the position of Principal Security Engineer.

NTT New Zealand has appointed Darren Ryland as head of cybersecurity for the company.

Tanium has appointed Dan Streetman to the position of Chief Executive, with co-founder and former CEO Orion Hindawi taking the role of Executive Chairman.

Gigamon has named Chaim Mazal as the company's new Chief Security Officer.

Folio Photonics has named Greg Kittilson as the company's Vice President of Engineering.

Apiiro has added Moti Gindi to the team as the company's new Chief Product Officer.

Virginia-based cyber defense organization IronNet has announced the execution of a federal contract serving the U.S. Navy’s Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). IronNet will provide cybersecurity services in the form of their Collective Defense Platform for NAVSEA.

Labor markets.

This week's cyber and tech workforce continues to feel the effects of economic downturn. Splunk announced its plans to cut 325 positions within the company, equating to around 4% of their workforce, the Wall Street Journal writes. The company intends to cut back on their use of outsourced agencies and consultants as well. Crypto company Chainalysis has said that they've laid off less than 5% of their staff, leaving the company with about 900 employees, Bloomberg reports. Dell has intentions to cut 6,500 staff, the Wall Street Journal recounts. Okta has plans to slash around 5% of their staffing and cites overhiring based on prior projections, Cybersecurity Dive explains. The National Security Agency, however, is hoping to posit itself as an attractive potential place of employment for the impacted tech workers, as one in a string of many federal agencies hoping to benefit from the loss in the private sector, says NextGov.
