Thoma Bravo has taken critical event management software company Everbridge private in a $1.8 billion deal, TechCrunch reports. Everbridge said in an announcement last month, "The transaction is expected to help accelerate the Company’s continued growth at a time of rising global uncertainty and increased prioritization of public safety and operational continuity."
Cloud security and compliance SaaS provider Hornetsecurity Group has acquired French email security company Vade. Vade CEO Georges Lotigier stated, "By joining Hornetsecurity, we will pursue and accelerate this commitment by helping to deliver a wider array of top-tier solutions to the ever-expanding cybersecurity market in Europe and worldwide. This union is the natural next step for Vade as we align ourselves with a like-minded European partner who shares our vision and culture."
CrowdStrike has agreed to acquire cloud data runtime security solution provider Flow Security. CrowdStrike states, "Following the closing of the acquisition, CrowdStrike plans to fully deliver native Flow Security DSPM capabilities in Falcon Cloud Security as part of the Falcon XDR platform, enabling customers to consolidate cloud point solutions and protect the entire cloud estate."
Virginia-based cybersecurity and managed IT services provider AdRem Systems Corporation has acquired compliance consulting firm Sherpa. AdRem stated, "The integration of Sherpa under the AdRem Systems Corporation umbrella signifies a fusion of expertise, creating a powerhouse of compliance and cybersecurity services. This move is in line with AdRem’s strategy to provide an integrated suite of services that address the evolving security needs of every business in the digital age."
Investments and exits.
New York-headquartered cybersecurity asset management company Axonius has secured $200 million in a Series E extension led by Accel and Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from existing investor Stripes. The company says the "new round of funding is intended to accelerate innovation and scale across the globe as demand for the Axonius Platform continues to grow."
Israeli cloud runtime security firm Sweet Security has secured $33 million in a Series A round led by Evolution Equity Partners, with participation from Munich Re Ventures and Glilot Capital Partners. The company says it "will use the funding to scale up its operations in the U.S. and expand its platform."
French cyber threat intelligence platform provider Filigran has raised $16 million in a Series A round led by Accel, with participation from existing investors Moonfire Ventures and Motier Ventures. The company says the funding, "[W]ill enable us to expand internationally by creating new subsidiaries in the United States and Australia. This expansion will focus on securing new strategic partnerships, accelerating the adoption of Filigran’s solutions by organizations in North America and Asia-Pacific, and providing local customer support."
UK-based cybersecurity startup Sitehop has raised £5 million (approximately $6.3 million) in a funding round led by Amadeus Capital Partners and Manta Ray Ventures, with participation from Mercia Ventures, the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund, and angel investors, UKTN reports. The company's CEO Melissa Chambers says the funding will "support the company’s international expansion, with plans for hiring in Brazil, the US, and India as well as its Yorkshire headquarters."
Open-source cloud security management platform provider Prowler has secured $6 million in a seed funding round led by Decibel VC. The company says, "With this new funding, we’re excited to enhance our existing features and introduce new innovations throughout 2024."
Singapore-headquartered identity authentication and verification company Silence Laboratories has raised $4.1 million in a funding round led by Pi Ventures, Kira Studio, and angel investors. SecurityWeek says the company "will invest the funds in its research and development unit and in expanding tech and business teams."
Seattle-based data governance platform provider Codified has raised $4 million in a seed round led by Madrona Venture Group and Vine Ventures, with participation from Soma Capital, GeekWire reports. The company plans to launch its product later this year.
Executive moves.
Morphisec has appointed Ron Reinfeld as its new CEO. Reinfeld previously served as the company's CFO. Morphisec's former CEO Ronen Yehoshua will continue to serve as the company's President.
Cylus has appointed Isabel Pardo de Vera Posada, former Secretary of State for Transportation in Spain and President of Adif, to its advisory board.
