Cloudflare has acquired zero-trust infrastructure access platform BastionZero. Cloudflare stated, "While our goal for years has been to help organizations of any size replace their VPNs as simply and quickly as possible, BastionZero expands the scope of Cloudflare’s VPN replacement solution beyond apps and networks to provide the same level of simplicity for extending Zero Trust controls to infrastructure resources."
Investments and exits.
San Francisco-headquartered data privacy platform provider Transcend has raised $40 million in a Series B round led by StepStone Group, with participation from HighlandX and existing investors Accel, Index Ventures, 01 Advisors (01A), Script Capital, and South Park Commons. According to Axios, the company will use the funding for "investments in the product, research and development, and bringing in more customers."
New York City-based passwordless authentication provider Hypr has secured a $30 million investment from Silver Lake Waterman.
San Francisco-based AI data governance and privacy startup Zendata has emerged from stealth with $2 million in seed funding from PayPal Ventures, First-hand Alliance, Geek Ventures, and Altari Ventures, FinSMEs reports. The company will use the funding "to develop its platform and expand its customer base."

Torq has appointed Josh Morris as Chief Revenue Officer.
Darktrace has named Jill Popelka as its new Chief Operating Officer. Popelka resigned from the company's board of directors in order to take the role.
