New Hampshire-based cloud service provider Rightworks has acquired Australian accounting cybersecurity company Practice Protect. Rightworks says the acquisition "will enable firms to manage risk, secure client data, and achieve regulatory compliance while using cloud and desktop applications in Rightworks OneSpace."
Mexican cybersecurity provider Cybolt has acquired Tennessee-headquartered managed cybersecurity services firm Cyber Guards. Cybolt stated, "Cyber Guard’s integration with Cybolt accelerates its dynamic expansion in the U.S., with plans to go public in the next five years."
Investments and exits.
PortSwigger, the developer of web application security testing platform BurpSuite, has raised $112 million in a strategic investment from Brighton Park Capital (BPC). PortSwigger stated, "In the near future, we will be investing heavily in our team, aiming to hire top talent across various roles, including product and engineering, customer success, sales, and marketing. We plan to expand beyond our existing base near Manchester, UK, and establish a presence in the US. This growth will position PortSwigger to continue delivering exceptional value to our customers and advance our goal of making the digital world safer for everyone."
San Francisco-based Salesforce data security platform provider Odaseva has raised $54 million in a Series C round led by Silver Lake Waterman, with participation from existing investors F-Prime, Eight Roads, and Serena Capital, and new investors Eurazeo and Crescent Cove. The company says the funding "will support further growth, including additional investment into data security and Zero Trust product offerings."
Permission management technology provider AuthZed has secured $12 million in a Series A round led by General Catalyst, with participation from existing investors Work-Bench, YCombinator, and Amplify Partners. The company stated, "Our Series A funding will enable us to build and commercialize our next round of big bets. First we plan to bring our Materialize product to general availability so that everyone will be able to take advantage of denormalization and incremental view maintenance with relationship-based access control (ReBAC), accelerating checks and providing an access control change stream."
Mobile device security firm iVerify has raised $12 million in a Series A round led by Shine Capital, with participation from Exponential Founders Capital, Mischief Ventures, Box Group, Parameter Ventures, Talons Ventures, and Trail of Bits. The company says the investment "will scale the company’s go-to-market operations and bring the full potential of mobile EDR – including automated response and remediation capabilities – to the Fortune 100."
