Mergers and acquisitions.
Cloudflare has acquired cloud security and compliance company Kivera. Cloudflare says the acquisition "extends our SASE portfolio to incorporate inline cloud app controls, empowering Cloudflare One customers with preventative security controls for all their cloud services."
Minneapolis-based data protection provider CrashPlan has acquired data backup and recovery company Parablu. The company stated, "The acquisition positions CrashPlan to deliver the industry’s most comprehensive backup and recovery capabilities for data stored on servers, on endpoint devices and in Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams to Azure, their cloud, or to CrashPlan’s proprietary cloud."
Australian computer security company Penten is merging with UK-based cyber innovation business Amiosec. Amiosec CEO Adrian Cunningham stated, "Through this planned merger, we will use the talents of our combined workforce to drive greater disruptive thinking and expand our offering to our respective nations."
Investments and exits.
San Francisco-based data governance platform provider Relyance AI has raised $32.1 million in a Series B round led by Thomvest Ventures, with participation from M12, Cheyenne Ventures, and existing investors Menlo Ventures and Unusual Ventures. The company says the funding "will further develop Relyance AI’s platform and scale its go-to-market efforts in response to significant recent momentum."
Singapore-headquartered external attack surface management startup watchTowr has secured $19 million in a Series A round led by Peak XV (formerly known as Sequoia India & Southeast Asia), with participation from existing investors Prosus Ventures and Cercano Management. The company says it "will use the funds to capture market leadership and accelerate global growth by expanding its go-to-market, research and engineering teams."
Boston-based industrial cyber risk management firm DeNexus has raised $17.5 million in a Series A round led by Punja Global Ventures, with participation from AXA XL, Prosegur/SegTech, and HCS Capital. The funding will enable the company "to accelerate its growth and expand its innovative product offerings and markets."
New York-based risk management platform provider CYRISMA has raised $7 million in Series A funding led by Blueprint Equity, with participation from SaaS Ventures and Golden Ventures. The company says "the funding will accelerate CYRISMA’s platform development, fuel customer success, and expand sales and marketing initiatives."
Software supply chain security startup EdgeBit has raised $3.1 million in seed funding led by Haystack, with participation from Y Combinator, Box Group, Liquid2, and angel investors.

Keeper Security has appointed James Scobey as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
OpenAI has hired Dane Stuckey as CISO. Stuckey previously served as CISO at Palantir.
