Chicago-based cybersecurity and managed security services firm Trustwave has merged with endpoint detection and response (EDR) company Cybereason. Following the merger, which is backed by SoftBank, the "two companies will function independently but collaborate strategically on value-added services and capabilities to expand market presence and bring greater cyber value to their client base."
Boston-based developer security company Snyk has acquired Portuguese dynamic application security testing provider Probely. Snyk stated, "The inclusion of API security testing is increasingly mission critical due to the reliance on APIs for the Large Language Model (LLM) powered applications being created in today’s GenAI era. Notable among the competition, Snyk now offers a full range of development and application security solutions, with customers immediately benefiting from a broader range of testing techniques in a developer friendly manner."
California-headquartered Malwarebytes has acquired Swedish privacy-focused VPN provider AzireVPN. Malwarebytes stated, "This acquisition further supports the company’s mission to reimagine consumer cybersecurity to protect devices and data, no matter where users are located, how they work and play, or the size of their wallet. By integrating AzireVPN’s advanced VPN technologies and intellectual property into its platform, Malwarebytes will deliver increased flexibility and enhanced security for customers."
New York-based cybersecurity-focused holding company Worklyn Partners has acquired New Hampshire-based IT Management Solutions (ITMS). Worklyn stated, "ITMS represents another building block in Worklyn’s creation of a diversified, platform IT organization capable of fulfilling today’s mission-critical IT needs through best-of-breed, outsourced IT solutions."
Investments and exits.
TechCrunch reports that Israeli cloud security startup Upwind is preparing to close a $100 million Series B round from Craft Ventures, Greylock, Cyberstarts, Leaders Fund, and others. The funding round will bring the company's valuation to between $850 million and $900 million.
Agentic security platform company Embed Security has raised $6 million in early-stage financing led by Paladin Capital Group, with participation from angel investors. Embed stated, "With this funding, the company will accelerate R&D, expand customer engagements, and build out a world-class team to continue solving critical cyber security challenges."

Trustle has named Gant Redmon as its new CEO. The company's founder Emiliano Berenbaum will serve as Chief Technology Officer.
Menlo Security has appointed Bill Robbins as President.
Pathlock has named Haviv Rosh as Chief Technology Officer.
Black Duck has hired Sean Forkan as Chief Revenue Officer.
