Cybersecurity solution provider Communicate has acquired security-focused MSSP Blaze Networks. Both companies are located in the UK. Communicate says "Blaze’s technical capabilities in designing and implementing multi-site, software-defined networking solutions will play a key role in expanding Communicate’s service portfolio, supporting organisations that require high-performance, secure connectivity across distributed environments."
Virginia-headquartered intelligence solutions provider Nightwing has acquired managed cybersecurity solutions provider Roka Security (also based in Virginia). The company says the "acquisition will enable Nightwing to deliver even more targeted, high-impact full spectrum cyber solutions for government and private sector clients facing today's rapidly evolving cyber threats."
Investments and exits.
Boston-based Aura, a provider of online safety solutions for individuals and families, has raised $140 million in a Series G round led by Ten Eleven Ventures and Madrone Capital, with participation from AT&T Ventures and existing investors Accel, Warburg Pincus, and General Catalyst. The company says the "latest round of funding will enable Aura to continue innovating, with more intelligent safety features in development and on the roadmap for general availability later this year."
Sunnyvale, California-headquartered AI application security startup Straiker has emerged from stealth with $21 million in funding led by Lightspeed Ventures and Bain Capital Ventures. The company stated, "Looking ahead, Straiker will introduce additional modules to secure every stage of the AI app development lifecycle and to safeguard the use of third-party AI applications."
San Mateo, California-based deepfake attack prevention company GetReal Security has raised $17.5 million in a Series A round led by Forgepoint Capital, with participation from Ballistic Ventures, Evolution Equity, and K2 Access Fund, In-Q-Tel (IQT), Cisco Investments, and Capital One Ventures. The company says the funding "will fuel GetReal’s R&D, product development, and go-to-market operations."
UK-based penetration testing firm Strike has raised $13.5 million in a Series A round led by FinTech Collective, with participation from Galicia Ventures, Greyhound Capital, and others. The company says the funding will fuel its expansion into the US and Brazil and accelerate the development of its Strike360 platform.
Canadian digital risk protection startup Styx Intelligence has secured $2.7 million in an oversubscribed seed round led by BDC's Seed Venture Fund, with participation from FRAMEWORK Venture Partners, Top Down Ventures, and Sprout Fund.
