The US Justice Department has opened an antitrust review of Google's planned $32 billion acquisition of cloud security firm Wiz, Bloomberg reports. Sources told the publication that the review is in its early stages and could last for months. Google plans to complete the acquisition in 2026.
Romania-headquartered Bitdefender has agreed to acquire Irish email security firm Mesh Security. Bitdefender stated, "The acquisition will incorporate Mesh’s email security capabilities into Bitdefender GravityZone, the company’s flagship unified security, compliance, and risk analytics platform."
New York-based IT service provider Abacus Group has acquired Chicago-based MSSP Entara. The company stated, "Complementing its deep financial services IT and security expertise, Abacus Group will extend Entara’s specialized incident response capabilities to its clients and their portfolio companies, strengthening its layered defense approach and 24/7 cyber recovery support. Entara also brings a mature, AI-driven instance of the ServiceNow platform that will enhance the service experience and outcomes for all clients."
Texas-headquartered SASE provider Cytracom has acquired security management platform provider Tentacle (also based in Texas). Cytracom stated, "This acquisition represents a significant advancement in Cytracom’s Security Risk Management (SRM) strategy and further aligns with the company’s mission to empower MSPs to grow beyond traditional IT services and embrace a more strategic advisory role, guiding their clients through the evolving discipline of risk management."
Texas-based SIEM provider Securonix has acquired Virginia-headquartered threat intelligence platform ThreatQuotient. Kash Shaikh, CEO and President of Securonix, stated, "Securonix and ThreatQuotient bring together complementary strengths—deep innovation across internal and external threat domains, and a shared commitment to innovation and customer service. Both companies serve enterprise and government customers as well as managed security service providers (MSSPs), and we’re excited to welcome the talented ThreatQuotient team and their customers to Securonix."
Canadian secure development platform provider Security Compass has acquired North Carolina-based threat modeling company Devici. The company stated, "This strategic acquisition enhances Security Compass’s portfolio, complementing its flagship platform, SD Elements, and strengthening its mission to integrate secure development practices from the start of software development."
Belgian data governance company Collibra has acquired data access governance provider Raito. The company stated, "The integration of Raito into Collibra’s platform will unify Collibra’s semantic graph with Raito’s security graph. This unified access governance approach unlocks end-to-end visibility, traceability, and control at any scale."
Security operations platform provider CybaVerse has acquired security automation firm SecureAck. Both companies are based in the UK. CybaVerse stated, "The integration of SecureAck’s technology will allow CybaVerse to enhance its already powerful platform with increased automation, improved scalability, and broader integration capabilities all within a hybrid, vendor-agnostic model."
Investments and exits.
Utah-based managed services and cybersecurity provider Nexus IT has secured a $60 million capital commitment from Metropolitan Partners Group. The company says the funding "will accelerate Nexus IT’s nationwide growth strategy, fueling its acquisition of culturally aligned managed service providers (MSPs) that share its vision of exceptional client service and operational excellence—specifically in highly regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, and legal."
Israeli detection and response platform provider Guardz has raised $56 million in a Series B round led by ClearSky, with participation from Phoenix, SentinelOne, Glilot, Hanaco, iAngels, GKFF Ventures, and Lumir. The company stated, "This funding fuels our next chapter: expanding our customer base, doubling down on AI, and accelerating platform innovation. We’re investing in deeper automation, tighter compliance workflows, more integrations, and even stronger 24/7 detection and response led by AI, backed by human expertise."
Denver-based security automation company Swimlane has raised $45 million in a growth funding round led by Energy Impact Partners and Activate Capital, with participation from Trinity Capital. The company says the new funding "will be applied to product innovation and global channel expansion." Swimlane added that it's "on track to achieve profitability in Q3-2025, driven by sustained revenue growth, improved operating efficiency, and disciplined cost management."
Israeli Web3 security firm Hypernative has secured $40 million in a Series B round led by Ten Eleven Ventures and Ballistic Ventures, with participation from StepStone Group and existing investors Boldstart Ventures and IBI Tech Fund. The company stated, "The funds will support the expansion of the company’s offering to include fraud prevention and wallet-level transaction protection—key steps toward building an end-to-end security platform for Web3. They will also fuel improvements to AI models through wider investment into high-quality training data, and support team growth to provide expert-driven risk analysis and customer support."
New York-headquartered cryptocurrency-focused key management infrastructure company Turnkey has raised $30 million in a Series B round led by Bain Capital Crypto, with participation from Sequoia Capital, Lightspeed Faction, Galaxy Ventures, Wintermute Ventures, and Variant. The company stated, "We’re scaling our team across engineering, product, go-to-market, and operations. We’re investing in more open source, deeper integrations, and more modular infrastructure for payments, AI agents, DeFi, and more."
San Francisco-based security questionnaire automation platform Conveyor has landed $20 million in a Series B round led by SignalFire, Oregon Venture Fund, and Cervin Ventures. The company says the funding will be used to scale its platform and expand its team.
Israeli cloud governance platform CloudQuery has raised $16 million in a funding round led by Partech, with participation from Boldstart, Tiger Global, and Work-Bench. The company says the funding "will be used to expand CloudQuery’s product into broader governance, security, and compliance use cases, scale go-to-market efforts with a focus on Fortune 500 adoption, and invest in strategic partnerships to accelerate platform growth."
Boston-based silicon security startup ZeroRISC has raised $10 million in a seed round led by Fontinalis Partners, with participation from Fundomo and angel investors.
Hirundo, an Israeli startup that helps secure AI models, has raised $8 million in a seed round led by Maverick Ventures Israel, with participation from SuperSeed, Alpha Intelligence Capital, Tachles VC, Plug and Play Tech Center, AI.FUND, Koda Wang, and Antoine Poirson.
Australian cloud security startup Circumvent has secured $6 million in seed funding from Paladin Capital Group. The company stated, "The funding will accelerate product development, support early customer engagement, and establish a San Francisco-based commercial headquarters. Circumvent will maintain its R&D hub in Australia, leveraging deep local engineering expertise. Its new San Francisco commercial HQ will act as the base for its entry into the US market and broader global customer engagement."
