Mergers and acquisitions.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise has completed its acquisition of Juniper Networks, which was first announced in January 2024. HPE stated, "The transaction doubles the size of HPE’s networking business and provides customers with a comprehensive portfolio of networking solutions. It also accelerates the company’s portfolio mix shift to higher-margin, higher-growth areas and positions the company for long-term profitable revenue growth."
Data governance platform provider Concentric AI has acquired data security firms Swift Security and Acante. All three companies are headquartered in Silicon Valley. Concentric stated, "With these acquisitions, Concentric AI now unifies data security posture management (DSPM), data loss prevention (DLP) and generative AI (GenAI) governance – spanning structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data, and cloud and on-premises environments."
UK-headquartered IT services provider Celerity has acquired Bloxham-based cloud data protection firm Silverstring. Celerity stated, "[T]he agreement...cements a long-term relationship between Celerity and Silverstring owner Predatar, developer of the innovative recovery assurance technology platform. As part of the deal, Celerity will become a preferred Predatar Apex partner for the UK market. Predatar Ltd will become a separate entity under the continued leadership of Silverstring’s Founder and former-CEO, Alistair Mackenzie. The deal will enable Predatar to accelerate innovation and growth – strengthening its position as an innovation leader in the market."
Zurich Insurance Group has acquired Canadian cyber insurance provider BOXX Insurance. BOXX will continue to operate as a standalone entity. Vishal Kundi, BOXX Insurance's CEO and co-founder, stated, "Becoming part of Zurich provides us with the resources and global reach to accelerate our mission. Combining the strengths of both organizations, will enable us to provide even more customers with the protection they need to navigate the digital world with confidence."
Nebraska-headquartered IT services provider Secur-Serv has acquired Texas-based MSSP Arrowhead Technologies. Secur-Serv notes that this is its "fifth acquisition in three years and further expands its footprint in the Southwest as part of a broader national growth strategy." The company added, "With a strong client base and reputation for service excellence, Arrowhead Technologies brings valuable regional insight and technical expertise to Secur-Serv. The acquisition enhances Secur-Serv's ability to deliver fast, responsive support across a growing footprint while giving Arrowhead customers access to expanded services and nationwide coverage."
Investments and exits.
Menlo Park, California-based managed detection and response company AirMDR has secured $15.5 million in seed funding from Race Capital, with full participation from existing investors Foundation Capital and Storm Ventures. The company says the funding "will fuel investment in research and development of the company’s flagship technology and increase the efficacy and expertise of AI Analysts."
London-based Privasee, a startup that automates RFPs and security questionnaires, has rebranded as "Vera" and raised €1.2 million (US$1.4 million) in funding from Pitchdrive, SFC Capital, and Plug and Play, EU-Startups reports.
