CertByte: Cisco® Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
On this edition of CertByte, we discuss a question from N2K’s Cisco® Certified Network Associate (CCNA) practice test.
As your news-to-knowledge partner, N2K will advance your career while bringing you the industry news and trends that help you stay a step ahead. Through our bi-weekly episodes of CertByte on the CyberWire Daily podcast, and these companion articles, we aim to support your certification journey and fast-track your career in IT, cybersecurity, or project management. As your host, I or my guest will share a practice question from N2K’s suite of industry-leading content and a study tip (or study “bit” as I like to call it) to increase your confidence and readiness on exam day.
In this segment, my new guest host Troy McMillan and I break down a question from N2K’s Cisco® Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Practice Test. The CCNA exam, ID 200-301, version 1.1, is an industry standard exam that tests your knowledge of network fundamentals. The latest version adds coverage of generative AI, cloud network management, and machine learning. As always, the question we shared is a sample from N2K’s Cisco® Certified Network Associate (CCNA®) Practice Test, and not from the actual Cisco exam.
This week’s question.
You have discovered that hackers are gaining access to your WEP wireless network. After researching, you discover that the hackers are using war-driving methods. You need to protect against this type of attack.
What should you do? (There is more than one correct answer.)
Answer choices:
- IEEE 802.1x
- NAC
- NTP synchronization
- OCSP
Watch this episode now to learn which exam tactic I utilized, how Troy helped me understand each answer choice, and the bonus advice he shared that gives students an edge in preparing for a question of this type.
Cisco CCNA study bit
Troy shared a study bit about time management. As students only have 120 minutes for this exam (which consists of 80 questions), this leaves approximately 90 seconds for a student to answer each question. So, it’s important to answer all the questions you know first, and mark any you are unsure about for later review.
