Here we are in 2023, a new year filled with many opportunities. We can choose to embrace them, ignore them, or be threatened by them. It is both daunting and empowering. We know that our industry is full of change and with that change comes opportunity whether it is for a new role, a new company, or a completely different path. I am here to tell you to go for it! Take that step, work toward your dreams and embrace the opportunity in front of you. If you don't have the opportunity, make it. “Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning.” – Gloria Steinem
We are all taking leaps of imagination here at N2K Networks. At the start of the year, the CyberWire and CyberVista teams are embracing our opportunity to reimagine our company, our roles, and our impact on the cybersecurity industry. We are finding ways to work together across the News 2 Knowledge (N2K) spectrum and I can say from my perspective, it is a lot of fun. Sure, it is daunting to change and step out of the roles that we are familiar with and work together, but that is what makes it so exciting. We are seizing the opportunity to combine our unique skills for the betterment of the cybersecurity industry. Stay tuned for how we embrace this opportunity and innovate as we move ahead.
I hope you will also embrace opportunity in 2023 be it in your professional role or personal life. Know that you have a community of women blazing the path for you and supporting you. As Dr. Maya Angelou put it, “Stepping onto a brand new path is difficult, but not more difficult than remaining in a situation, which is not nurturing to the whole woman.” Do you respond to opportunities? Or, do you make them? Do you consider them or just jump right in? Whatever path you take, I hope you find a way to embrace it and make it your own in 2023! Cheers!
